Cliff Richard fans have raised £ 10,000 for the neonatal unit at Birmingham Women's Hospital to mark the 70th anniversary of the singer.
It occurs at the Royal Albert Hall in London this week, but gave himself off Thursday to celebrate.
His sister Joan gave him a card and letter from the Birmingham fans at breakfast, the club said.
Club president Ann Bew said their 1200 members have helped pay for a room special baby care unit, dedicated to him.
"The card has not written about it 70 or something like that, but it has a small baby in an incubator and there was a letter inside that told him that the fans have paid for this room Baby care special for him that will save lives for years and years to come. "
